AWC
Who is AWC?
The Association for Women in Chemistry seeks to support women in chemistry and related fields as they advance through graduate school and seek fulfilling professional careers. AWC believes in the value of increasing gender diversity in chemistry, and promotes diversity by providing graduate students with opportunities for networking, professional development, and a forum to discuss concerns and learn from the stories of successful women leaders in science. AWC aims to:
I. Establish a community of support and empowerment for graduate women in chemistry at Northwestern University, and connect to broader communities and organizations with similar aims.
II. Encourage women to become fully-engaged members and leaders in their scientific communities at Northwestern and in their future careers.
III. Raise awareness of the barriers and biases that women face in STEM.
